This is the perfect time to join our large and growing real estate company as a Handyman in a luxury, renovated complex conveniently located in Irvington, New Jersey. This is an immediate opening at one of the premier multifamily properties in Essex County. In this role, you'll be working alongside our seasoned team of professionals in a collaborative environment as we work with ownership to execute a multi-year renovation of the entire community.

**DAY IN THE LIFE**

As one of our on-site Handymen, you'll be an essential part of the go-to team for repairs, maintenance projects, apartment turnover work, and other responsibilities. This is an important role within our property management team and essential to the smooth everyday running of our large community.

Throughout the day and week, you may jump from performing repairs as directed by the property manager to managing porters, and performing preventive maintenance. Additionally, you'll be inspecting and maintaining buildings and grounds, doing general boiler maintenance, and snow preparation/removal during the winter month's inclement weather.

Other duties as assigned like posting notices will help in the smooth running of this busy community with an anticipated work schedule of Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Requirements

**WHO YOU ARE**

A successful candidate must have proven experience as a Handyman with deep experience with knowledge and experience in the following:

• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Basic understanding of carpentry, painting, window installation and/or plumbing/electrical a plus
• Experience with all painting (taping, compounding, plastering, sanding, priming) and finishing trades (tile work, grout, caulk, silicone), as well as light plumbing, electric, carpentry/sheetrock, and appliance repair work
• You're a problem-solver with a knack for organization skills and a high emphasis on follow-through

**REQUIREMENTS** The right candidate should possess the following:

• 4+ years of handyman, painting, and building/mechanical system experience
• Physically fit with the ability to lift 40+ lbs.
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to perform work with minimal instructions
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work closely with maintenance directors, property managers, office managers, outside vendors, suppliers, contractors and residents
• Well-organized and a dedicated worker who tends to resolve issues immediately
• Strong attention to details
• High school diploma or equivalent
  

Benefits

• Salary will be commensurate to level of experience with a range of $25 - $28 per hour ($52,000 - $58,240 annual salary.)
