Head Start Center Director

Location: Bryan Texas, Neal head Start Location

As a Head Start Center Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our center operates effectively, providing a nurturing and educational environment for children while supporting their families and staff. Your leadership and commitment to program excellence will contribute to the success and positive impact of our Head Start center. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Head Start center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services to children and families. This role involves a range of responsibilities focused on program management, team leadership, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management:
    • Implement and maintain Head Start Performance Standards, policies, and procedures to ensure program compliance.
    • Supervise the center's operations, including classroom activities, family engagement initiatives, and support services
    • Monitor and assess program quality, making improvements as needed to enhance the learning environment.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, supervise, and support center staff, including educators, support staff, and administrative personnel.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that prioritizes professional growth and staff well-being.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.
  • Curriculum and Assessment:
    • Oversee the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment tools
    • Ensure that teaching practices align with program goals and support children's developmental needs.
  • Family Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with families through open communication and family involvement initiatives.
    • Conduct regular parent meetings, workshops, and conferences to engage families in their child's education and development B
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure that the center operates in full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal, state, and local regulations
    • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Willingness to obtain a Center Director's Credential as part of our internal professional development process.
  • Previous experience in early childhood education, program management, and leadership roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, families, and community partners.
  • Dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of program operation.
  • Genuine passion for early childhood education and a deep commitment to the well-being of children and families.
