Rye Country Day School is seeking Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach beginning November 6 through February 24, 2024. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Beginning November 6 through February 24, 2024, specific roles include:

• Head Ice Hockey Coach
• Oversee the JV program

Specific responsibilities of each position includes:

• Managing student athletes
• Communicating with athletes, parents and guardians, and the Athletics administration
• Attending all practices and contests
• Connecting with Middle School and JV Programs
• Supervising teams before and after practices/contests
• Completing comments and providing feedback at the completion of each season
• Additional opportunities to run developmental programs, camps and clinics may arise

Desired qualifications:

• Excellent leadership and coaching skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Coaching experience at the high school level or higher
• A well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
• Strong organizational, administrative, and technology skills
• A positive attitude and an ability to foster a cooperative work environment and to work well with other members of the department, supervisors and employees
