New media production company is seeking an experienced Head of Physical Production to work with our team in overseeing day-to-day operations of film and television projects. We're looking for a collaborative and creative problem-solver, who works effectively with both creative and production types. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with working on multiple film, television, and un-scripted formats and in a variety of budget ranges. Skilled in production efficiency; achieving the highest production values within the constraints of any budget. Equity partnership considered for right candidate.
Responsibilities: Direct and maintain studio oversight on a slate of 3-5 projects per year (film, television, & live events) Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously; oversee production crews, and builds and maintains relationships with key external partners Engage creative executives and external producers on preliminary breakdowns, budgets, and schedules Partner closely with the Production Accountant across a range of budget levels to review budgets and cash flows, monitor cost reports, hot costs, residuals, and security deposits Track the pipeline status for each project for both Production and Post Production Collaborate with Production Finance teams to organize and run weekly meetings to review and reconcile delivered projects Liaise with Business Affairs to ensure efficient sharing of information and deal tracking Identify vendors and deals to be implemented across our large volume of productions Assess production locations and tax incentive opportunities Own projects, processes, programs, and resources Makedecisions on administrative or operational matters Additional duties, as needed
Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area Minimum of 10+ experience in physical production (Live events, Episodic TV, Feature Film) Ability to multitask, collaborate across cross-functional teams, detail-oriented, problem-solver Ability to develop and maintain key relationships Extensive knowledge of producers, locations, tax credits, and labor regulations International production experience preferred Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented to manage many projects simultaneously Knowledge of and experience with production and tax incentives Knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting, Final Draft, and Post Production Flows Strong budgeting and scheduling skills Knowledgeable in union and guilds: IA, DGA, WGA Teamsters and SAG (Modified Low Budget through Basic agreement) Proven leader who cares about culture, building relationships and delivering best-in-class work Great interpersonal abilities; works effectively and interchangeably with creative and production personnel Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office/Excel and MS Outlook Strong verbal and written communications skills
