We are hiring a Head of Product Engineering who will directly impact the company's growth strategy by bringing post-silicon engineering operations experience to enable TTM delivery of our products that meet our customers' needs.

The new leader should have a strong background in computers and electronics or semiconductor manufacturing, knowledge of product engineering functions including test, validation, quality, reliability, and high volume manufacturing, and be skilled in managing operations of a company with complex product lines in a complex industry. The new leader will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of advanced photonics-based products to enable Lightmatters exponential growth. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Hardware, Systems & Product Engineering, the new leader will have the exciting opportunity to help us deliver our products at scale!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the product engineering organization including defining and implementing product engineering strategies and goals aligned with Lightmatters vision and business objectives.
  • Grow, lead, and manage teams of cross-functional engineers across test, validation, quality, reliability, and manufacturing.
  • Foster a culture of innovation that drives the development of product engineering methodologies across test, validation, quality, reliability, and manufacturing to enable the delivery of silicon photonics products that are optimized for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Monitor and improve product engineering processes to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and manufacturing yield through effective process controls and quality management systems.
  • Own and drive yield improvement programs across various sectors of manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with teams across product marketing, design, manufacturing, and supply chain including external partners like Foundry and OSAT to build strong relationships that facilitate long-term growth and satisfaction.
  • Analyze product margin data and implement best practices and manage operations to improve efficiency, cost reductions and contribute to overall customer and partner satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture across the organization while providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, industry trends, and emerging technologies.


Requirements

  • Master's degree or MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, hardware test & validation, supply chain operations, and manufacturing operations
  • Ten or more years of experience in leadership roles with a demonstrable track record of managing successful engineering teams
  • Must have a range of technical and business skills, as well as a deep understanding of the semiconductor industry
  • Proven experience in product engineering or related field within the semiconductor industry
  • Strong knowledge of test engineering, validation, quality, reliability, design for manufacturing (DFM), and design for test (DFT) development methodologies.
  • Experience with semiconductor product lifecycle management principles with demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams that have led products from concept to production.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written able to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Possess expertise in finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, managing resources efficiently and making sound decisions, while aiding the team in comprehending critical financial metrics to enhance business decision-making

Base Compensation Range: $230,000 to $280,000. In accordance with the Colorado, California and New York law, the range provided is Lightmatter's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Actual pay will be based on several factors including work experience, location and education.
