Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and the three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 years through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.


The Health Services Manager is responsible for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, and supervising health services to children and families enrolled in Educare of Omaha, Inc. Specifically, providing professional healthcare and effectively supervising the healthcare staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality student and family care and services consistent with regulations and established healthcare best practices.


Schedule: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, exempt. The home office is based at our Educare Omaha at Kellom (24th & Hamilton St.) location but serves all 5 of our schools. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility on evenings and weekends as needed.


Educare of Omaha recommends all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates stating they are vaccinated will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. If not vaccinated, masking may be required while on the premises.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices and interagency responsibilities involved in contemporary public health.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing the services and work of local public health programs.
  • Knowledge of the organization and the purpose of federal and state health departments.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of managing physicians and other medical professionals and other managers; effective public and community relations practices.
  • Knowledge of public information practices and techniques; practices of health service advocacy; principles and practices of determining and serving community health needs.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management, budget administration and control, program budgeting, principles and practices of personnel, and information systems organizational management.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA , FERPA, and other federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding Patient Confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, time management, and experience with data entry, typing, and basic computer programs including Microsoft Office and Teams.


EDUCATION

  • Registered nurse required with a Bachelors degree in nursing, health education, or health preferred.
  • Two years of professional experience in staff development required.
  • Experience in high-level executive health care related to administrative duties.
