Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic



Columbia/Lexington SC


Looking for a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to work onsite at for a successful Civil Company (Dirt Work) in Central South Carolina. This individual will work both at the corporate mechanics shop as well as in the field doing repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY


Under limited supervision, Safely and Efficiently perform diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a variety of vehicles including but not limited to Dozers, Graders, Skid Steers, Loaders, Excavators, and other support equipment. Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, and John Deere strongly preferred.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE NEEDS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE


Minimum of 3 years in a position as a mechanic trained to handle repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment used in construction


Responsible for requesting/ordering parts as needed


Ability to work on site and in the field at job sites


Perform requested repairs to systems such as Engines, Transmissions, Final Drives, Brakes, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Electrical Systems.


Record and report usage of all components, parts, and other resources on daily paperwork.


Have a current SC Drivers License and a Good driving record


Ability to operate all types of equipment in a safe and responsible manner according to the manufacturers recommendations
