The High Line Network Coordinator will administer and assist in the execution of various initiatives related to the High Line Network. The Coordinator will focus on administrative and programmatic support, including but not limited to data collection, invoicing and budget management, scheduling, contract management, and event planning assistance for convenings and other public-facing events. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director and Manager of the Network to support day-to-day coordination, research, and support of tasks and projects within the department and the High Line, as well as with our external partners. The Network Coordinator will also play a significant role in liaisoning with the marketing and communications department to ensure the timely delivery of content and context for all Network programs and initiatives. This position reports to the Director of the High Line Network.

What is the High Line Network? A program of the High Line, the Network is a group of infrastructure reuse projects and the people who help them come to life. Members of this network are nonprofit organizations transforming underutilized infrastructure into new urban landscapes, redefining what a park can be. The Networks mission is to support a community of infrastructure reuse projects in creating vibrant and equitable public spaces that center local communities, build civic connections, support environmental resilience, and foster equitable community development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination and Workflow

  • Assist Network Director and Manager with Network administrative tasks, including team meeting logistics, agenda development, budget management, note-taking, and data entry.
  • Regular maintenance and oversight of Network organizational systems, including Asana, Google Drive, databases, listservs
  • Assist with the development of joint programming initiatives, including research, project scopes, implementation of activities, and coordination across member sites.
  • Support the federal funding coalition within the Network, including coordination with lobbyist contacts, coordinating meeting schedules and agenda development, and management.
  • Work closely with the Manager and Director to facilitate overall Network membership operations and logistics.

Communication and Events

  • Support content development of Network convenings, policy labs, and symposia, including identifying session topics and speakers, conducting complementary research, and event planning
  • Handle all travel logistics, including travel reimbursements for event attendees, Network staff site visits, and programmatic-related events.
  • Support event venue logistics (registration, room setups, catering, AV needs, site visits, and any other special event requirement) (with support from events consultants as needed), including run-of-show support during the event
  • Work closely with the High Lines Communications, Development, and Network teams to produce and manage Network-related materials, both print and online and ensure necessary tasks are completed
  • Draft PowerPoint/Google Slide presentations and written marketing materials for public-facing Network needs, including newsletter updates and other targeted mailings
  • to produce Network marketing and research materials/documents

Metrics, Databases, and Reporting

  • Maintain and manage Network asset databases and online resources
  • Update metrics tracking tools, including spreadsheets, reports, and/or databases to support communications and storytelling, grant reporting and proposal development, presentations, etc.
  • Update annual success metrics report of Network and member activities
  • Help prepare periodic updates and customized reports on progress to multiple audiences, including staff, community stakeholders, and board of directors.
  • Support the evaluation of Network programs through data entry.

Requirements

Desired experience of a successful candidate may include the following, but candidates will not be screened exclusively based on meeting these qualifications:

  • 2-3 years administrative-related work experience in nonprofit and/or public sector
  • Bachelors Degree with 12 years of work experience in urban planning, public policy, or a related field preferred but not required (may be substituted with equivalent work experience)
  • Experience and fluency with Google G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in project management tools such as Asana, Airtable, and Calendly
  • Experience developing communications pieces, including reports, newsletters, and social media
  • Experience and preference for working with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Graphic and web design experience, including the ability to use Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of public space and interest in issues of social impact and urban design
  • Experience with federal funding advocacy
  • Advocate for equity in public spaces and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace.
  • Experience organizing large-scale conferences or events, both in-person and virtual

This is a Full-Time, Year Around, Non-Exempt position.

Actual salaries will vary on various factors, including but not limited to experience and performance. The hourly rate for this position is set at $30.50/hour.

The location for the role remains hybrid, with a requirement to physically report to the office (located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District in New York City).
