Description

Hire Resolves client is a leading Civil Engineering firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Civil/Highway Engineer in New York.

Responsibilities

• Leading teams to produce design criteria, design plans, design calculations, cost estimates and specifications for highway and/or site/civil projects
• The Civil/Highway Engineer shall be familiar with both local and national codes, standards, and specifications
• Leading the technical delivery of projects of varying complexity from concept development through final design
• Participate in working meetings during design development with internal teams as well as sub-consultant staff to ensure consistency, thoroughness, and quality of work product
• Oversee, mentor and review the work of junior staff
• Coordinate workload throughout entire project development and ensure completion of documents on schedule and within budget
• Perform Project Engineer duties including financial responsibility for your assigned aspects of projects, and contribute to progress reports, and schedule updates
• Position can be in New York, NY, White Plains, NY, or Newark, NJ
  
  

Requirements

• MS or BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field
• 5 years of design experience in all aspects of Roadway Design including Geometry, Utility, Drainage, Grading and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic design
• A working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or Inroads and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong technical skills in highway and/or site/civil design and the ability to mentor staff and review work to ensure high quality standards
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare memorandums, letters and reports
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Working knowledge of project scheduling software
• Active participation in professional engineering community activities
