Qualifications Four year high school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years work experience Successful completion of training program as an NYSDOH Emergency Medical Technician, and other protocol update programs as currently required. 1 + years 911 experience preferred NJ or NREMT certification Driver's license with infraction free driving abstract issued from anywhere within the country Emergency Vehicle Operators Course completion desirable
Responsibilities: 1. Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks: 2. Receives emergency calls from dispatcher or Supervisor and promptly, safely responds to assignments. 3. Ensures the safety of the patient and other pre hospital personnel at all times. 4. Performs medical histories and performs physical exams as indicated on patients in the field. 5. Initiates indicated treatment modalities according to written policies and medical control physician orders 6. Provides direct patient care from first contact through authorized hand-off at all times. 7. Remains in-service until properly relieved or released by supervision. 8. Accompanies the patient to the ED and monitors and treats the patient during transportation. 9. Transports the patient to the appropriate emergency department and reports orally to the nurse and/or physician. 10. Writes a comprehensive report documenting the situation at the scene, physical exam, orders received, treatments rendered, response to these treatments, and other information deemed pertinent.
