The Position

The Human Resources Manager leads daily departmental operations and is the Business Partner to local plant leadership. The HR Manager is responsible for the development and execution of HR policies and procedures. Additionally, the position is responsible for a wide array of HR projects and assignments, which include (but are not limited to); recruiting, employee relations, employee development, performance management, retaining talent, implementing HR initiatives, policies and procedures.

The Location

We are located at 8860 Smith's Mill Rd, Suite 100, New Albany, OH(link removed) This is an onsite position.

Additional Job Details:

  • Drive implementation of key HR initiatives
  • Ability to engage at all levels of the organization and be a strong contributing team member
  • Counsel and guide leadership to take appropriate corrective actions, as needed, including coaching, disciplinary steps, and performance improvement plans
  • Actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes necessary to cover risks for the company.
  • Anticipate, identify, intervene, and resolve issues. Conduct investigations of employee concerns and issues, as needed, and ensure timely and responsible resolution
  • Consult with hiring leaders on the appropriate staffing strategies, recruiting, screening, selection and referrals
  • Gain ongoing employee feedback, assess issues and resolutions, analyze data, and make recommendations to the HR Director on policy and process changes, enhancements, and clarifications aimed at improved HR efficiency
  • Actively participate in performance assessment and improvement processes up to and including termination. Document and monitor performance improvement plans and related execution with managers and employees. Provide coaching and guidance to management and employees for resolution of employee concerns and respond to employee and management inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Document disciplinary conversations and secure related documentation in corporate and HRIS networks
  • Participate on special projects such as SPI initiatives, Engagement Surveys, Training and Development, performance management
  • Provide support to Manufacturing in the areas of safety and conflict resolution
  • Support and advise management with respect to fair labor standards (federal and state) and occupational safety as well as legal compliance in the areas interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, workplace behavior and performance review
  • Maintain confidentiality in employee matters and respond appropriately, representing the HR and Alene Candles in a positive and professional manner

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred
  • 5-7 years experience within the field of Human Resources, including manufacturing HR experience
  • Minimum two years experience leading an HR Team
