Position Description

  • The HR Support Clerk of Human Resources will perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource office, such as Benefits, FMLA, Wellness Recruitment and On boarding, Public Records, Performance, Training, Org. Development, and Employee and Labor Relations.
  • Assist Human Resources Team with miscellaneous administrative functions, such as answering and directing departmental phone calls, checking voice messages, data entry, copying, faxing, preparing employee packets, maintaining employee files and Human Resources designated emails.
  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
  • Participates and supports the coordination of company-wide events, such as open enrollment, wellness fairs and initiatives, announcements of changes in benefits plans, new hire orientation, employee luncheons.
  • Answer general questions related to benefits, FMLA, recruitment, and company events.
  • Proofreads and types documents and correspondence produced by department, to include mailing information to the employees, such as creating, sending and filing benefit termination letters.
  • May assist with preparation of human resource reports.
  • Submit departmental requisitions and/or purchase orders, as needed.
  • Gathers information for public record requests and completes all necessary employee information redactions.

Marginal Functions: Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Skills Required

  • Excellent PC skills working with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Publisher, and the Internet and Adobe
  • Ability to work independently.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Usual office environment.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals, noise and fumes.
  • Subject to all weather conditions.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment. Incumbent may sometime be located in an outdoor, street, community, or shop environment.
  • Ability to hear, see, speak, and perceive color, depth and texture.
  • Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • May be exposed to potentially intimidating and/or unreceptive members of the public; may occasionally be exposed to extreme noise and physical harm or fumes and airborne particle.

Experience Required

  • Three (3) years of office experience performing similar duties & functions, with one (1) year in HR administration, clerical, recruitment, benefits, FMLA or ADP Vantage preferred.

Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
