Job Summary:

  • The HR Coordinator supports the university missions by coordinating all unemployment claims, communicating with constituents, tracks all incoming requests in an external system, acting as a bridge between constituents and HR. Key Responsibilities & Performance Standards Coordinate Unemployment claims processing, including responding to requests for information, requesting hearings on contested cases, coordinating management participation in hearings and Employment Appeals Board review, as appropriate. Work with departmental embedded HR and HRBPs as needed for additional information to ensure an accurate response. Track fraudulent unemployment claims. Serve as backup for other missions' unemployment claims as assigned and necessary.
  • Required Education:

  • Associate's degree in a related field and 2 years of progressively responsible administrative experience,
  • Or equivalent education and experience.
  • Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of computer hardware and software, including demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and reporting; report inquiry from mainframe database and experience with Oracle or similar data system.
  • Required Competencies:

    • Ability to make decisions without complete information Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds and levels in an organization Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds as well as the ability to effectively diffuse upset or angry persons.
