The Hydrogen for Mobility (H2fM) Business Development Manager builds Air Products H2fM business in the Netherlands. Specifically, the position will complement the existing team having full responsibility for all activities related to the identification, development and commercial execution of investment activities associated with Air Products strategic growth platform of H2 for Mobility.
Several European countries and cities are mandating the uptake of zero emission vehicles. Projects will primarily involve
larger scale fleets (bus, trucks, train, ships) fueling stations
(link removed) Air Products aims to be the market leader in providing end-to-end hydrogen refueling solutions to fleet operators, providing hydrogen molecules together with complete refueling infrastructure including operation and maintenance services.

The business development manager will work within the existing team engaging with hydrogen vehicle manufacturers, governments, fleet operators and key local influencers, to sell our H2 for Mobility solutions by developing projects to convert heavy duty vehicle fleets to emissions free H2fM technology.
As we start to develop projects to build the HRS infrastructure, this position will support those projects commercially and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth development and start-up of operations.
A high degree of collaboration, teamwork and influence is required. The position interfaces with the Global Standard Plants Product Line Organization, the EMEA GEMTE Project Execution Organization, as well as European regional Customer Engineering and Operations teams, Supply Chain, the H2fM technical team, Controllership, Marketing, Communication, vendors, and customers.


The position is located in the Netherlands.



Principal Accountabilities:


Drive the growth of our H2fM business in the Netherlands.

Identification and development of business opportunities, including generating leads and responding to tenders.

Building relationships with potential customers/partners and with influencing bodies (H2 vehicle OEMS, governments, logistics organizations, local economic development forums , etc).

Provide commercial and project management support to the projects currently being in development in the country.

Working with the H2 sourcing manager to determine the appropriate sourcing strategy for the region.

Work with Government relations to understand and positively influence the regulatory framework that influences this business and to understand and secure public funds which are available to support the transition to zero emission transport and manage financial funding claims.

Direct the internal team (including corporate functions) in the business development and execution process.

Support marketing activities by representing AP at trade fairs, conferences and exhibitions.


Qualifications/Skills:


Candidates should ideally have degree in business, economics, engineering or science with several years of work experience, 5 years of which should be in sales or business development

A self-starting deal maker who will take ownership of multiple projects from inception to hand-over, working as part of an integrated team

Must be able to work well with a cross functional team with external stakeholders and provide leadership to a variety of internal functional groups in order to develop and execute proposals and projects

Contract negotiation skills and an understanding of financial transactions is required

Excellent relationship building skills

A very well-organized team player

Fluency in English and local country language is essential
