The GSD Wealth Actuarial team supports Actuaries and Consultants of UK Occupational Pension Schemes with a broad range of actuarial & financial management services like Funding Valuation, Accounting (FRS102/IAS19R), Actuarial reports, Individual member calculations, de-risking projects, etc. We have a client base of 450+ clients, providing more than 75k+ hours of deliverables annually.
The Actuarial team is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mumbai office:
Lead Specialist Actuarial
What can you expect?
Perform, check and review Actuarial Calculations like Valuation of DB Schemes, member pensions, funding updates, company accounting, etc.
Communicate and agree scope of work, budgets and other requirements with scheme and corporate actuaries.
Train and mentor junior colleagues
Grow and develop skills to become SMEs on multiple processes
In-house virtual and in-person training on UK Employee Benefits
Opportunity to contribute ideas to setting up and improvement to process templates
Guidance on legislative changes and actuarial procedures
Support in developing and building robust processes

We will count on you to:
As a releaser of processes, ensure the quality of delivery of all actuarial work released to UK actuaries is of high standard.
Meeting all service level agreements at least 95% of the time.
Maintaining a high quality of deliverables, ensuring a 95% QC positive track.
Maintaining minimum productivity of 100% and agreed client utilisation targets (in the range of 65%-70%).
Ensure constructive and timely feedback is provided for all work completed
Initiate and implement improvements to existing processes to bring about greater efficiencies.
Implement ideas agreed by the internal management team or at a business level.
As owners of templates and portfolio guides, ensure these are regularly updated.
Through automation, provide suggestions to reduce should take times.
Contribute to team wide projects. As an individual, work on one project within the team.
Conduct training sessions for the team. Regular follow up and on floor support to team members on technical query resolution, problem solving, soft skill development.
What you need to have:
Graduation in any stream. Should be a member of the Actuarial profession (enrolled to complete actuarial studies at least)
Masters in statistics / maths / Actuarial science (preferred)
Should have successfully cleared 2 to 5 actuarial papers
Should have undertaken the responsibility of coaching / mentoring team members.
Essential: 4-6 years of relevant experience in the areas on valuation of pension schemes. Demonstrated track record of providing high quality work, good technical know-how and ability to work on bespoke projects with a team.
