Job Title: Capacity Manager

Pay Rate:  $65.22/hr.

Location: Dallas, TX 75202

Duration: 6+ Months with the possibility of extension

Schedule: Shift 1; M-F



Per manager:

o Technical background in servers (HP, Windows, Linux, VMware), storage (HP/Cisco), infrastructure (ServiceNow, CMBD, another form of Asset Mgmt. Software)

o Planning and forecasting on projects with deadlines

o Demonstrated success with budget analysis, forecasting, and presenting to leadership




Summary

The Capacity Manager is responsible for leading the Capacity Management team, subordinates, outsourcing, and contracting partners. This person is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of capacity management are met, ensuring there is sufficient IT capacity to deliver both current and future demands. This person will require strong leadership skills in inter-company and inter-departmental groups related to capacity management and the ability to achieve results through outsourcing providers. Leading strategic planning efforts, draft policy, develop IT capacity forecasts including supporting financial projections. This person is expected to work closely with the Software Asset Manager, and other Capability leads to ensure demands and associated costs are accurately forecasted.



Key Roles & Responsibilities

(link removed) Leadership of the Capacity Management team, partners, outsourcers, and contractors

(link removed) Develops, implements, monitors, and recommends changes to capacity allocation, decommissioning and forecasting processes and procedures

(link removed) Provide forecasts that will enable Oncor to meet operational goals, including reviewing and approving strategic initiatives to meet guidelines and milestones

(link removed) Executes special projects, develops strategic plans, and forecasts results related to IT Capacity Management

(link removed) Manages the CMDB platform, ensuring it is maintained at the current version and all software entitlements are uploaded and tracked within the product

(link removed) Develops and supports operational models to ensure system reliability, scalability, and operability

(link removed) Reviews and approves IT systems configuration changes as they relate to capacity changes including areas that affect software licensing compliance

(link removed) Participate in the architecture planning runway, capability forecasts, and plans, plus performance management forecasts

(link removed) Manages vendor and outsourcing relationships based on contract requirements

(link removed) Works with vendor and outsourcing resources to improve processes and operational issues



The minimum education requirements are:

(link removed) High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in MIS, Statistics or Computer Science is preferred



The minimum experience requirements are:

(link removed) Ten years or more experience in IT Capacity Management or related experience is required

(link removed) Budget Management accountability support over $500k in either O&M or Project support categories



The minimum skill requirements are:

(link removed) Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

(link removed) Advanced knowledge of Information Technology systems

(link removed) Understanding and experience with CMDB solutions

(link removed) Proven ability in producing accurate forecasts of program results that guide the efforts of others

(link removed) Advanced written and verbal communication skills

(link removed) Proven ability to articulate complex issues in both public and private forums and work with many stakeholders, both internally and externally

(link removed) Able to develop and establish goals, objectives, and visibly measure improvement results

(link removed) Possesses demonstrated leadership skills

(link removed) Ability to create strategic processes that attain high levels of precision

(link removed) Demonstrate multi-project tracking skills including requirements gathering, status updates, and adherence to schedule
