About Burkes

Burke's is an independent K-8 all girls school located on a 3.5-acre campus in San Francisco. Burkes is one of Californias leading elementary schools with a 115-year tradition of educational excellence. Position Description

Burkes is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed technical support professional with strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, exceptional database expertise - ideally in a school environment, and organizational skills to join the Technology Team and assist and support teachers, students, families, staff, and administrators in our predominantly Mac and iOS environment. This is a full-time role that reports to the Director of Technology.

Responsibilities Include:

Database Manager

Work closely with the Director of Technology to conduct maintenance, manage user accounts and perform administrative tasks of enterprise level SIS and other school database systems;

Work with Blackbaud Student Information System (SIS), assisting users with the configuration of the SIS tools and reports, and managing the integration of the SIS with other systems;

Manage and support Upper School and Lower School in the configuration of Blackbaud SIS enrolment management, academic and grading setup and other Blackbaud integrated products;

Proactively communicate and maintain relationships within school stakeholders and teams while managing collaboration for various IT/IS projects and initiatives;

Provide coaching, training, and support to employees related to campus databases and systems

IT Support

Work with teams in other departments to meet database needs and communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide one-on-one and in group setting user training as needed;

Manage support operations and HelpDesk support tickets as needed in accordance with department policies and established workflows;

Work with the Director of Technology to design and implement the schools software deployment and management plans;

Maintain up-to-date faculty, staff, and student licensing assignments and school needs for software subscriptions;

Maintain vendor relationships through technology deployments and other projects



Other

The position will extensively collaborate with the Director of Technology, IT / Educational Technology Manager and and scheduling and SIS teams at the Lower and Upper schools and other departments;

Engage in regular professional development that supports school, department, and personal growth goals; take initiative to make things better;

Physical demands include visiting classrooms across the 3.5 acre campus, throughout the day and ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.;

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology

Requirements

Professional Skills & Experience

Required

Experience administering and supporting critical operational workflows for different enterprise applications, including the following systems: student information, email, phone, and device management, with Blackbaud SIS strongly preferred;

Experience supporting IT operations, including hardware deployment, device management, network, and security;

Confidence with Apple system and device support - including iPads, macOS and hardware, Apple TVs;

Experience developing user-friendly training/support materials for a variety of audiences and providing technology support (e.g., screencasts, written tutorials, FAQ, etc.);

Ability to work independently, and as part of teams on different initiatives

Preferred

Expertise with database systems as related to an educational setting;

Experience with technology deployment and support in a school setting;

History of coaching and/or leading technology training for a variety of audiences;

Experience with educational software such as Blackbaud SIS, Google Apps (G Suite)

Compensation
