Title: IT Project Manager- Vehicle Electronics
Location: Lisle, IL (Local candidates only to Lisle, IL)
Duration: 7 Months

Hybrid. Up to 2-3 days at WHQ each week (ultimately depends on project and team structure)
3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

Description
Desired skills

STRONG Project Manager skillset (PM Processes/Best Practices). 5+ years corporate PM experience completing large scale/complex implementations with large/detailed project plans (critical path timelines in MSP) and budgets, a skilled problem solver and change champion/leader.
Commercial vehicle or automotive industry experience required.
Vehicle electronics domain, i.e. vehicle electronics architecture, engineering product development process knowledge required.
Required: History of successfully creating and maintaining a complex software development roadmap. Capable of doing so where product increments are driven by overlapping and interdependent releases by the engineering organization of new vehicle hardware and the embedded software running on related ECUs (electronic control units). VEI develops the electronic service tool application used by dealers and fleets to run vehicle diagnostics, reflash ECUs, and program configuration parameters, etc.
Excellence in communication with business stakeholders and the development team. Professional and technical aptitude to quickly discern and accurately represent status of current work, and the team's capacity to deliver on new scope (i.e. feature requests, quality improvements, mandated technology platform upgrades, cloud migrations)
Self-starter, works autonomously to determine/develop/drive the proper process/documentation/tools needed for each project to motivate people to accomplish goals to make each project a success.
Experience speaking in large groups and delivering presentations to executive leadership. Must be able to take leadership feedback, quickly absorb and make decisions.
PMP and Agile certified

-The IT Project Manager Initiates, Plans, Executes, Controls and Closes multiple simultaneous IT Projects.
-Leads cross-functional teams to complete tasks and deliverables according to the project schedule, on time and with quality.
-Applies the Client IT process to lead projects to completion both on schedule and within budget.
-Requires people and resource management skills through others; part of a cross-functional team required to complete projects.
-Successful candidates will demonstrate a history of success leading teams in a matrixed organization structure, and success in leading without direct authority.
-Ultimate responsibility for the success of the project toward achieving financial and performance targets resides with the Project Manager.
-Leads cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of IT projects.
-Coordinates work performed by internal staff and external partners/customers by defining project requirements, and performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments.
-Develops detailed project plans, schedules and budgets and manages all implementation processes including interdepartmental meetings, technical and functional resource identification and allocation, project timeline and progress tracking, change control process, testing, documentation, training and interdepartmental communications and activity management to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
-Selects, develops and evaluates team resources to ensure efficient operation of the project and its goals.
-Projects may vary in number, size and complexity.

Requires in-depth knowledge and experience of Project Management processes and best practices.
Works as a team leader in a fast-moving dynamic environment to delivery implementations that drive and support modernization processes across the organization.
Must be a Change Champion and have a demonstrated history of success leading difficult projects where change is required and be comfortable leading organizational change.
Work is accomplished through independent contributions or project work requiring advanced subject area knowledge and decision-making skills.
Fully proficient in applying established standards, resolving a wide range of complex problems of diverse scope in innovative ways, including problems where precedent may not exist.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Must be a skilled problem-solver who follows through on corrective action implementation.
Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel.
Experience implementing large-scale and complex IT initiatives and their budgets is required.
Experience with implementations using Agile practices and continuous improvement.
Must be a self-starter who is expected to develop detailed project scope, budget and schedules based on intent from leadership.
Works autonomously to drive the proper process/documentation/tools needed to motivate to accomplish goals to make each project a success.
Must be comfortable with real-time decision-making in the absence of complete or perfect information.
Must be comfortable with public speaking in large groups including Executive audiences.
Expected to identify, evaluate, document and develop mitigation plans for project risks and issues.
May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience.
Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential(s) strongly preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt training and/or certification a plus
Master of Business Administration preferred and a strong working knowledge of project finance is a must

Additional Requirements:
Proficiency developing detailed project schedules and performing critical path analysis using Microsoft Projects is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word are required
Experience implementing large-scale and complex IT initiatives and their budgets is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
PMP or PgMP certification.
Agile experience (recent practical experience preferred) and certifications such as CSM/SCM (etc.) receive preference.
