Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist based onsite in our Tewksbury, MA location. The IT Support Specialist works across a broad range of technologies to support clients within multiple areas of the business regarding IT related incidents, problems and requests. They are responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, live chat or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms. They must provide on-site and remote technical assistance including the setting up of computer hardware systems, installing and upgrading software, and troubleshooting basic IT issues.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install and maintain computer hardware, peripherals and telecommunication devices in accordance with department standards
  • Configure and troubleshoot operating system, application and related PC software
  • Implement security updates to IT hardware, software and communication systems as requested
  • Troubleshoot computer network and communication issues
  • Provide basic training on computer operation, security and management to end-user community
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to end-user community with the ability to provide support outside of standard work hours as needed
  • Perform daily backups of company data stored both on and off premise
  • Monitor IT systems for availability, performance and security as requested
  • Identify, log and resolve technical problems with hardware, software applications or network systems
  • Strictly maintain software licensing terms and inform IT management of any known issues
  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance to colleagues regarding incidents and problems
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines
  • Maintain IT service management databases with up to date and clear record of activities
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to IT management for consideration and implementation
  • Other tasks as assigned by IT management

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in an IT end-user support role
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Office 365 applications
  • Familiarity with network cabling and wireless communication systems
  • Relevant certifications in areas such as Microsoft, hardware, networking or security preferred
  • Familiarity with Mitel/ShoreTel telecommunications platforms preferred
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service skills in face-to-face, telephone and electronic interaction with clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize projects properly to ensure tasks are taken care of in order
  • Positive, driven and confident and will always represent the company professionally
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to promote cooperation among peers, superiors, and other teams towards achieving goals
  • Must routinely be able to lift up to 50 lbs
