Job Description

  • Review and analyze current, new, or resourced, manufacturing operation; develop and coordinate projects which will result in more economical manufacturing methods and costs
  • Responsible for recommendation and management of projects relating to cost reduction activities or other programs involving manufacturing procedures, controls, or facility rearrangements
  • Research, analyze and recommendation of projects or activities for annual plant capital program.
  • Research to stay informed of new technology and manufacturing techniques
  • Support plant manufacturing activities and personnel through resolution of production problems or bottlenecks
  • Update and maintain plant layout
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Develop and maintain labor standards to achieve operational efficiency targets
  • Figure out how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiency
  • Develop management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient
  • Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
  • Actively search, identify, and complete cost out projects to exceed annual salary
  • Develop and maintain process instructions
  • Responsible for quality improvements of current and new products
  • Support the quality department by working with, including visiting, supplier sites as needed
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Support quality manager in APQP and PPAP activities
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment (welding and sheet metal products preferred)
  • Excellent skills in disciplined problem-solving methodologies and techniques (8D preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office (experience with Share point a plus)
  • Background in IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • CATIA V5, Pro/E, AutoCAD, UG, or related CAD software experience preferred
  • Project management & customer interaction experience preferred
