TITLE:

Industrial Engineering Manager (Manufacturing/DC)

DUTIES:

Under supervision of the Vice President of Engineering, perform the following job: Research, justify, and develop proposals and ideas to present to management for manufacturing processes and equipment to bring operations in house or upgrade current operations which save money and/or improve quality; Negotiate pricing and supply agreements, develop budgets and schedules, provide layout and process options, oversee installation and startup, provide training, set metrics, support ongoing operations and develop labor and cost saving initiatives throughout the equipment or process life cycle; Manage facility upgrades and develop preventative maintenance program for all equipment to run operations with high efficiency; Initiate continuous improvement projects and reduce overall cost of operations; Drive various Engineering studies across the facility to optimize process flows improving productivity and facility space utilization; Evaluate latest automation technologies and develop a solution that optimizes the throughput, improves quality and overall operations; Analyze and design sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in production facilities and equipment layouts; Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel; Work with safety team to establish accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations; Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems; Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods; Delegate project tasks and supervise manufacturing and automation engineers; Provide constant guidance and direction to team members; Mentor and train interns and engineers in technical areas such as line balancing, overall equipment effectiveness, operation efficiencies, safety and total quality management; Utilize Lean Manufacturing (Kanban, JIT, SMED), Robot Troubleshooting, Continuous Improvement, Automation, Line Balancing, Root Cause Analysis, Process Improvement, Facility Planning, Time Study; Technology used involves: Dassault Systems SolidWorks, Auto Cad, AS400/RFGEN, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Outlook), Stat Graphics, C++, HTML, Java, Tableau, Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended, INFOR XA, SAP Business & CRM, Visio, Lean Manufacturing, Robot Troubleshooting, Continuous Improvement, Automation, Line Balancing, Root Cause Analysis, Kanban, JIT, 5S, Time Study, Process Improvement, Facility Planning, SMED.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants need to have a Master’s degree (or foreign equiv.) in Industrial Engineering or closely related Engineering field and 3 years experience in the job offered including technologies identified, or alternately, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equiv.) in Industrial Engineering or closely related Engineering field and 5 years progressive post Baccalaureate experience in the job offered including technologies identified.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
Lean Systems Certificate

COURSEWORK REQUIREMENTS:
