Preschool Teacher Job Description

Responsibilities for Preschool Teacher:

• Provide a safe and loving environment for the preschoolers in their care.
• Planning and delivering lessons to facilitate student's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Tending to student's basic needs per licensing regulations, making sure faces and bodies are clean, and helping them at mealtime if necessary.
• Mediating conflicts between students.
• Model appropriate behaviors at all times.
• Ensure play, sleep and bathroom areas are kept clean.
• Maintain daily open communication with parents.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications for Preschool Teacher:

• Completion of the Early Childhood courses as designed by the state Child Care authority.
• Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Warm, approachable disposition and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Caring individual who enjoys teaching young children.
• Ability to lift as much as 70 pounds.
• Ability to work a shift in between 7:00 am - 5:30 pm that changes weekly.
• Reliable transportation to IWCP.
• Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents.
• At least one year of childcare experience is required.
• Associate degree in ECE, a CDA, or a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, is required.
