Job Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze and document and existing Informix architecture and infrastructure.


• Recommend best practices and optimal technical approaches for modernizing a legacy Informix/4GL existing system (upgrade path, infrastructure, db design, data migration, replication technology and design etc)Develop Migration and Modernization Detailed Technical Proposal


• Develop and Execute Multiphase Execution Plans and playbooks for moving PoC Modernization Solution to production.

Skills and Experience Required:

Technical Skills:

• Expert level proficiency in Informix  12.x Server - architecture, configuration, stored procedures, queries, 4GL programming, Unix/Linux scripting,


• Expert Level Proficiency designing and implementing Large Scale Informix HA/DR Environments spanning multiple Data Centers.


• Hands On experience installing and configuring large Scale  HA/DR Clusters with HDR Secondary Servers, Remote Stand-Alone Servers, and Informix Connection Manager,


• Able to develop scripts to load test data,  perform large scale data migration, install/update DDL, perform backups, manage HDR Clusters,  execute HDR Cluster Node failover, etc


• Experience with large scale legacy migration and modernisation projects


• Proficiency with all modern and recent legacy Informix versions (10,x, 11, x, 12,x)


• Experience with Unix based Informix operating environments (HP/UX,  RHEL7.5)


• Excellent understanding of general database design and development


• Experience with very large databases and/or data warehousing


• Proficiency with fundamental RDBMS principles, database design and normalisation


• Experience with performance tuning and performance testing and monitoring


• Understanding of the full development life cycle, development methodologies, and version control.


• Must be able to perform root cause analysis and address performance problems


• Adhere to standards for all databases:  data models, data architecture, naming conventions
