Ingot Shift Manager - $70-78K + 8% Bonus – Steel Mill/Liquid Foundry Operations - Lead by example and ensure safe working practices are followed by crew members - Assign daily work orders to hourly employees and communicate the status of the shop between operating turns - Develop hourly labor schedules and manage labor costs in accordance to budget - Perform timekeeping duties and ensure pay is correct for employees - Perform administrative activities such as completing reports, conducting safety meetings, presenting performance/cost results, and administering discipline as needed - Promote continuous improvement and standardization of processes and procedures - Participate in customer centric quality improvement initiatives - Be the face of the ingot producing area and meet with suppliers, customers, and internal/external stakeholders - Coordinate production scheduling activities between customers, sales team, quality assurance, and production crew - Supervise pouring of liquid steel into ingot molds - Troubleshoot equipment and work with department maintenance team to support a reliable operation - Manage inventories and order supplies/materials required for production based on sales forecast - Manifest product shipments to customers and handle any issues with transportation - Participate in product claims investigations and root cause analysis with quality assurance department - Participate in business planning and budgeting activities - Other duties as assigned.



 



Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (preferred) - Associate degree (or higher) in a technical field (required) (mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, electronics, etc.) - 2+ years of related supervisory experience in a steel ingot manufacturing facility (preferred) - Experience in a union environment (preferred) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Good troubleshooting, and team building skills - Experience with hydraulics, water systems, pneumatic, and steam systems a plus - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office and PowerPoint - Ability to lift more than 25 pounds on occasion - Climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping, walking, use of hands, etc. is required
