Position purpose: - The Innkeeper is responsible for providing a luxurious guest experience from check-in to check-out, while also monitoring and managing the physical property of the respective inn at which they are working.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks - Serve as main caretaker and host of the property guest experience
- Maintain essential functions of the property and supervise house at all times throughout shift
- Act as liaison to maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure urgent requests are taken care of promptly and effectively
- Maintain a friendly and accommodating attitude for guests
- Act as a resource for guests who inquire about the property, their personal stay, future trips in the area, etc.
- Assist guests accordingly and tend to their specified needs throughout their stay in person and over the phone
- Provide concierge services such as assisting guests with dinner and entertainment suggestions and make reservations for guests, as required
- Ensure the property and rooms are tended to before guest arrival
- Provide social interaction activities for guests to attend
- Coordinate daily wine and cheese hour
- Assist with marketing properties and give tours to guests as desired to explain details of the house and surrounding area
- Coordinate execution of special requests from guests
- Manage essential documentation for guests stay, inclusive of registration card, welcome letter, and folio.
- Collect payment, assign guest keys, sign registration cards and receipts with guests, and process all check out payments
- Coordinate and monitor guest check-out time
- Ensure cleanliness of property, including kitchens, guest rooms, and public spaces
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings
Requirements - Hospitality experience
- Keen ability to anticipate guest needs
- Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with the IOA properties
- Flexible scheduling and must be amendable to overnight and weekend shifts
- Proficient in Microsoft Programs and general computer literacy
PREFERENCES - Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Must adhere to a professional dress code
- Specialized concierge historical knowledge of the Cayuga County and Village of Aurora area
- Knowledge of high-end operations and luxury properties
- Knowledge of wine, wine production and exposure to culture
Benefits Full-time innkeepers, those working 3 or more shifts per week, are eligible for health, dental, and life insurance, paid time off, and a 401k.
