About The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Instructional Designer to join our Navy Pass team in Chesapeake, VA. This role is remote, though we strongly prefer candidates who reside in the Norfolk or Virginia Beach area.

You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop user-friendly training materials for U.S. Navy Pay and Personnel procedures, forms, and relevant processes. You will also have the opportunity to utilize your creativity by incorporating minor animations using Adobe Captivate 2019. Our courses are designed to be straightforward, Level 1 Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), with minimal branching. You will be responsible for generating audio, navigation, and animations within Captivate to enhance the learning experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with to create and maintain Computer Based Training using Adobe Captivate 2019.

Utilize screen capture software and edit graphics in Adobe Photoshop.

Develop linear CBT content, navigation, and basic scripting, including the use of variables and functions when necessary.

Demonstrate excellent writing skills and a strong grasp of grammar.

Be familiar with image and audio compression techniques.

Required Skills And Experience

Exceptional writing skills and a strong understanding of grammar.

Proficiency in both image and audio compression.

Competency in Adobe Captivate 2019, Photoshop, Snag-IT, basic Office 365 skills, and cloud-based file transfer methods, with a basic knowledge of scripting languages (ActionScript, JavaScript, etc.).

Ability to create, edit, and maintain interactive e-Learning Computer Based Training materials.

Prior experience in creating CBT for online deployment via Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Familiarity with SCORM is highly desirable but not required.

Knowledge of Navy Pay and Personnel methodologies is helpful.

Experience

3 - 5 years: Prior experience with multimedia authoring solutions such as Captivate, Storyline, Authorware, etc.

5 - 8 years: Ability to create, edit, and maintain interactive e-Learning Computer Based Training.

5 - 8 years: Experience with Adobe Captivate 2019, Photoshop, Snag-IT, basic Office 365 skills, cloud-based file transfers, and a basic knowledge of scripting languages (ActionScript, JavaScript, etc.).
