Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Designer to join our team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with subject matter experts, educators, and stakeholders across the university, including collaboration with the Office of Human Resources and the Office of Compliance. Together, we will design, develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality, effective online training for tens of thousands of university employees, affiliates, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance engaging and effective learning experiences, whether in-person, blended, or online.

Create, organize, and maintain instructional materials, activities, curricula, and assessment resources in line with pedagogical best practices, cognitive and learning science, and modern design tools and methods.

Research, design, and procure learning resources, technologies, materials, and processes to enrich the learning journey.

Provide consultation, training, and support for learning technology tools and platforms.

Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, offering valuable feedback on learning technologies.

Collaborate with fellow instructional designers to foster best practices, streamline processes, and boost efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in eLearning development software (e.g., Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate) and a strong grasp of instructional design methodologies.

Experience deploying and supporting online courseware on a Learning Management System (LMS) and familiarity with SCORM standards.

Proven ability to establish professional relationships with stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service.

Experience applying project coordination strategies to meet goals and deadlines.

Familiarity with providing technical support for online courseware, an LMS, or other software.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in instructional design, education, instructional technology, or a related field.

Hands-on experience developing courses in Canvas LMS.

Familiarity with video and captioning for delivering learning content.

Experience with a technical support ticketing system.

Collaborative work with other instructional designers.

Minimum $56,000 (12 months)

Commensurate with experience and qualifications, typically in the range of $56,000 - $69,000.
