Join our team of academics and former military training specialists as we design and develop the latest in training solutions for The United States Coast Guard's Command, Control, and Communications Engineering Center (C3CEN) located in Portsmouth, VA. 



The Curriculum Developer is required to have four (4) years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office to complete all steps of the Human Performance Technology (HPT) Model including:




  • Front End Analysis (FEA)

  • Job Task Analysis (JTA)

  • Training Needs Assessments (TNA)

  • Collection of Step-data

  • Creation of Job Aids, Instructor Guides, Course Workbooks, and Course Materials

  • Follow-up evaluations



Additionally, the ideal candidate will include experience with Captivate, Lectora, or similarly related ISD / eLearning Tools in their resume.



It is expected that the incumbent for this position will possess an excellent command of the English language in written and in verbal form.



 



Required Qualifications:




  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret Clearance at a minimum

  • Ability to clearly explain a complicated procedure in simple and understandable manner.

  • The candidate must be able to resolve problems through creative and logical thinking. The candidate must have good verbal communication along with written skills.

  • Uses proper terminology to explain technical ideas in simple language which can be understood by an average reader.

  • Has a good command over English language and a considerable amount of technical knowledge to efficiently develop and produce instructor-led and distributed learning products.

  • Work with content developers and subject matter experts, observing functional tasks to determine process steps.

  • Ability to recognize and adjust writing style based on content and product type.

  • Ability to differentiate between (and write) generic and example-specific process steps.

  • Ability to write a numbered outline, and then develop the outline into a comprehensive, well-written document.

  • Ability to organize materials and finish the given assignment in required style, terminology, clarity, and order. Document types include: numbered outline, design maps, story board, process flow chart, and instruction manuals.

  • Ability to adhere to established technical writing standards.

  • Expert understanding of voice, tense, and address.

  • Expert knowledge of Word and working knowledge of Excel.

  • Familiar with computer systems and software in technical terms.

  • Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team.

  • Ability to apply and provide constructive criticism in a professional manner.
