Position: Instrument Assembly Technician
Location: Boulder, Colorado 80301
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: Monday through Friday: 6:30AM 3:00PM
Pay: $16.50/hr
Instrument Assembly Technician will assemble analytical instruments, as well as specific components of the final assembly, made to exacting tolerances through the use of ISO work instructions, engineering schematics, and customer orders.
Work Schedule
Typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday: 6:30AM 3:00PM with OT as required due to spikes in customer demand, and sometimes Saturday work when needed.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Utilize customer order and quality documentation systems to plan and coordinate daily work activities.
Perform final assembly and associated sub-assemblies in order to complete units or systems according to customer specifications.
Ensure that stock items are available on the production floor utilizing Kanban system.
Safely power up and test finished assemblies and have sufficient understanding of the items assembled to perform trouble-shooting and rework.
Complete necessary paperwork to assure Work Order, Quality Assurance and Labor Tracking requirements are fulfilled.
Work from production drawings, final assembly blueprints, and/or verbal and written instructions with minimum supervision.
Regularly use ordinary hand tools, calibrated tools, and analytical instrumentation, as well as chemically aggressive fluids, such as acids and bases.
High voltages occur in the instruments under repair (Manual dexterity, reasonable vision, and safety awareness is important).
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/team lead
Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma / GED
At least 2 years related precision assembly work experience, including soldering
Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to follow established work schedules.
Ability to demonstrate basic mechanical skills in order to assemble and test a variety of sub-assemblies, assemblies, and instruments.
Ability to be flexible and respond appropriately to workload changes.
Computer literacy to be able to operate computer systems utilized in collecting data, access the business system, and making labels.
Skills to operate electronic test equipment such as multimeters.
Demonstrated commitment to team concept of work
