Instrument & Electrical Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Location: Tulsa, OK

Description:

A dynamic and experienced individual is sought to join a leading team as an Instrument and Electrical Technician. This crucial position ensures the proper control of equipment operation through the execution of Instrument and Electrical tasks. As an integral part of the Manufacturing Department, the successful candidate will contribute to translating engineering documentation into meticulously routed, wired, shielded, connected, and terminated electrical assemblies.


Responsibilities:

  • Reading electrical schematics/wire diagrams
  • Reading/interpreting P&IDs, and GA drawings
  • Point-to-point wiring of power & control wiring
  • Installing instruments/actuators/controllers/panels
  • Running conduit, wire trays, & supports
  • Terminating twisted pairs
  • Terminating multi-conductor/potted/Okonite
  • Performing all electrical and panel checks
  • Performing all controls and com checks
  • Running pneumatic control tubing
  • Leading others and planning ahead
  • Adhering to applicable Codes
  • Making correct decisions
  • Efficiently accomplishing tasks
  • Maintaining proper, professional housecleaning
  • Working safely
  • Addressing average percent of wiring repairs
  • Demonstrating reliable and punctual attendance
  • Exhibiting a positive and cooperative attitude


Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent electrical and controls automation proficiency in process piping and pressure equipment manufacturing.
  • Successful completion of a qualified electrical test and class-appropriate level of experience.
  • High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
  • Higher vocational electrical/controls background is preferable.
  • Experience with NEC and UL/CSA Codes is helpful.
  • Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is suggested.
  • Working knowledge of electrical parts supply, nomenclature, and controls component functions, including PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, valve actuators, communication programs, and interfaces, is mandatory.

Working Environment:

  • Heavy construction and fabrication environment: constantly.
  • Office environment: rarely.
