Description:

As an Instrument Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing and service operations of the company. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the timely creation and implementation of procedures and documentation to support existing and new products and equipment, executing and implementing equipment preventative maintenance programs, and troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctioning products.

In addition to these tasks, you will also be cross-trained on multiple product lines and potentially perform as a line lead or a technical resource for other assigned personnel. You must identify and communicate safety concerns to your immediate supervisor, perform prescribed general maintenance of equipment in assigned work centers, and assemble and test new or modified electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components or assemblies across the product lines.

You will also set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to ensure compliance with previously documented specifications. You must record test procedures and results on a PC, utilizing spreadsheet tools to archive numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes in product or test method.

To succeed in this role, you must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You should be able to complete work tasks with sufficient verbal or written instructions, have an aptitude for electro-mechanical maintenance and repair, and possess basic math skills. You should also be able to work with units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Excellent communication skills are a must-have, as you will need to communicate with team-members and internal customers regarding equipment operation. You should also be able to write reports and correspondence, work independently in the absence of a supervisor, identify concerns and make decisions in process and safety, and have basic computer skills. Microsoft Office experience is preferred.

As an Instrument Technician, you will be required to meet the physical requirements that go with the job. You will be regularly required to stand and sit for extended periods, extend and reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle, squeeze, twist and manipulate objects, controls and tools. You will regularly perform repetitive manual and automated assembly operations. You may occasionally be required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch, and frequently lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull pallet jacks and carts. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
