Due to our excellent working relationships with our clients, repeat work as well as our 3, 5 & 10 year growth plan we have immediate openings for a Instrumentation & Controls Engineer professional and are seeking qualified candidates who are enthusiastic and driven to succeed.


Responsibilities

The I&C Engineer must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual and shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player, and have a strong drive to deliver to customers. This role will develop and implement I&C deliverables on process-driven projects, coordinating with internal process, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred for developing drawing deliverables, as well as experience with databases for developing an instrument index, I/O list and datasheets. Project sizes will vary, and will consist primarily of pharmaceutical, biotech, or industrial process projects including both existing building renovations / retrofits and new construction.


  • Working with an instrument database or similar tool to develop an instrument index, I/O list, instrument data sheets, etc.
  • Selecting instrumentation for process control applications.
  • Assisting in instrument sizing calculations for valves, flowmeters, etc.
  • Assisting process and mechanical engineers with P&ID development by adding I&C symbols to depict the intent of the design.
  • Assisting in the development of control panel drawings to include panel layout, panel wiring, and bill of materials.
  • Developing loop drawings and control wiring drawings to depict I&C circuitry.
  • Creating instrument location plans and instrument installation details.
  • Coordinating with architects and electrical engineers to locate control panels and ensure appropriate control power is provided for I&C devices and panels.
  • Developing I&C construction specifications.
  • Following projects after construction documents are issued and reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, and making field visits to verify construction of I&C scope is proceeding per the intent of the design.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with databases
