We are now seeking an Insurance Examiner to join our team.
Responsibilities include: - Maintains strict confidentiality and security of the personal health information contained in the data sources.
- Ensure accurate and organized work papers are prepared in accordance with the instructions provided in the NAIC Market Regulation Handbook and procedures of state and federal government, as applicable.
- Complete detailed reviews of examinations, and examination work papers, as the exam is being completed; follow-up on all review notes and ensure they are cleared by examiners.
- Obtain continuing education, as required, for all credentials and designations.
- Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
- Performs ad hoc tasks/duties as assigned.
- Exercises appropriate discretion and independent judgment relating to company policies and practices in an effective, consistent and professional manner.
- Adheres to applicable policies and procedures ensuring commitment to quality, compliance and security to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and information.
Requirements - Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
- Working towards either the Accredited Insurance Examiner (AIE) or Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE) certification
- Skilled in MS Office 2016 software or higher version: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat PDF.
- Must be a team player.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to calculate complex mathematical formulas.
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of and ability to interpret insurance licensee law, regulations and guidelines.
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices.
- Knowledge of business practices and operational procedures of insurance licensees.
- Considerable knowledge of policy contracts and forms.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures for conducting investigations and examinations.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply insurance statutes, regulations and bulletins.
- Knowledge of insurance rates and rating procedures; some knowledge of contract and property law.
