Mercers Consumer Wealth Division is Mercers superannuation and wealth solutions business in Australia and New Zealand. The Consumer Wealth Division manages the administration of individual super accounts as well as delivering business process solutions and best practice consulting advice to corporate clients.

The Mercer Super Trust (MST) in Australia represents approximately, approximately 800,000 members and over $57 billion in funds under management.
The role reports to the Insurance Product Leader and requires a close and collaborative relationship with other stakeholder groups to promote and maintain a competitive insurance offering. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of service providers (i.e., insurers and administrators). Primary focus for the role is on Growth and other select clients as defined by Mercer Super.


Key responsibilities


Provide subject matter expertise in regards to the MST insurance proposition.

Contribute to new business quotes for prospective clients and subsequent installations.

Contribute to the insurance premium rerate process, ensuring key drivers of change are understood and documented.

Contribute to the preparation and delivery of insurance product offer documents (e.g. Insurance Booklet, PDS etc).

Ensure ongoing product and/or policy changes are accurately reflected in insurance policy documents in a timely manner.

Ensure approved insurance governance and delegations of authority frameworks are followed.

Maintain knowledge of regulatory change and impacts of this on insurance in superannuation.

Mentor Insurance Product Analysts to increase technical knowledge and stakeholder engagement skills.

Contribute to the preparation of various Board and Committee papers.

Contribute to various other ad-hoc insurance related activities as directed by the Insurance Product Leader.

Provide technical input to and review from a product perspective, a range of communications that relate to the assigned products, ensuring the client and member experience is the best it can be.

Contribute to the high-performance of client engagement teams by leveraging and sharing knowledge / skills with clients, and within the industry.

Drive strategic objectives and operational performance.


What you need to have:


Consulting background advantageous.

RG146 advantageous.

The ability to make rational and realistic decisions using business knowledge, experience and factual assessment of all the information.

The ability to express ideas in writing, verbally and through effective listening to influence others or gain support.

The ability to establish courses of action for self and others to ensure accomplishment of specific objectives.

The ability to willingly co-operate and work with others towards solutions that generally benefit all involved so as to accomplish organisational objectives.

Understanding of Australian financial services legislation, including specific requirements relating to insurance such as codes of practice and offer document disclosure requirements.

Sound understanding of the product management process, product lifecycle management and technical insurance product knowledge including an in depth understanding of the different types of retail or group life insurance products (incl Death, TPD and Income Protection insurance) and supporting processes including but not limited to underwriting, claims and complaints handling practices.

Sound understanding of other competing products in the Australian marketplace and how the MST is relatively positioned.
