Responsible for managing all aspects of the patient intake process including managing the members of the intake team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and managing the insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Directs all daily patient referral and intake operations including providing direct oversight of the establishment and implementation of intake policies.
- Directs the implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure patients are admitted in accordance with policy.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential
referral sources. - Provides leadership in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to meet customer needs.
- Provide initial contact for the Hospital for potential admission
- Screen clients for appropriateness and eligibility in person or over the phone
Discuss behavioral/ psychiatric issues with appropriate staff as needed - Provide/document appropriate referrals and reason if unable to admit
Provide and demonstrate good customer service
Provide and demonstrate good leadership - Complete funding paperwork and fax as needed
- Assist in Admission process to include completing required clinical and administrative documentation, insurance verification, etc.
- Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during the day
- Maintain up-to-date required training
- Supervise staff
- Perform other related assignments as directed by Director of Admissions
Requirements
Minimum of a Master's Degree in the Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work)
3 years Admissions experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
Supervisor experience required
Work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed
Ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action
Able to multi-task
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail-oriented
Professional and pleasant demeanor
Must have a current Texas license (LPC, LMSW, LCSW)
