Mercer is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled analysts for its investments group based in Gurgaon/Noida/Mumbai.

We are seeking an Investment Intern to assist in evaluating the performance of investments and asset classes in our clients' portfolios. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the investment industry, working with investment professionals and contributing to various analytical and reporting tasks.

Mercer Investments group provides a broad range of investment consulting and advisory services, working closely with the Mercer Investment Consultants across multiple geographies. This role will support analysis and research at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process. The role will focus on various aspects of institutional investing, including data collection and analysis, investment strategies research, performance reporting, financial modeling, asset class research, and related investment consulting functions. The incumbent in this role should have an understanding of the Global Capital Markets and working knowledge of various Asset Classes and Investment Strategies.

Key responsibilities of the Full-time investment analysts are listed below: Measuring performance of investments and asset classes in the clients' portfolio Communicating with investment and money managers and custodians to gather and/or clarify client-specific data for reporting Daily work management and execution of performance reporting operations activities Preparing Portfolio evaluation reports for institutional clients on a monthly/quarterly basis detailing the market performance, investment results, style exposures, and recommendations for portfolio rebalancing Assessing the performance of fund/investment strategies and linking the performance with market/economic developments and the investment process of the asset managers Measuring performance of investments and asset classes in the clients' portfolio Communicating with investment and money managers and custodians to gather and/or clarify client-specific data for reporting Daily work management and execution of performance reporting operations activities Preparing Portfolio evaluation reports for institutional clients on a monthly/quarterly basis detailing the market performance, investment results, style exposures, and recommendations for portfolio rebalancing Assessing the performance of fund/investment strategies and linking the performance with market/economic developments and the investment process of the asset managers Developing asset allocation solutions for institutional clients based on the Investment Policy Statement while incorporating the asset class views of the organizations Strategic Research Group Review and amend investment policy statements Write research papers on macro/microeconomic environment and Investment industry trends Providing research support on client requests including ESG, Style Analytics, Asset Class Trends Review asset allocation and portfolio construction as per client goals and risk appetite Fund managers screening and preparation of fund search report Modeling of fixed income & equity portfolios using external software Develop strategic asset allocation models, risk, and return calibration, and portfolio analytics on portfolios of institutional investors Provide support on asset class studies and periodical publications Note Please be advised that your ultimate alignment with a particular team within the Investments group will be contingent upon performance in the evaluation process, your skillset, and any prior experience.
What you need to have:
Knowledge & Skills:
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a graduate degree in mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Engineering/ Commerce with excellent academic track record OR a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA Finance) with strong quantitative and analytical content Possess an understanding of the basic investment terminologies and concepts Strong logical and analytical skills with attention to details Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, business communication, and time management skills The ability to understand the link between data, its application to the bigger picture Positive attitude & ability to adapt to the ever-changing environment
