Pollo Regio is seeking an Internal Auditor to support the Finance and Operations. Internal Auditors help safeguard organizations by analyzing compliance, risks, and potential discrepancies. This teammate is a highly motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills who leverages data to create impactful analysis and audits. This is a dynamic role in a growing organization with direct exposure to corporate strategy and will work closely with finance, and operations as a partner daily. This teammate would report to the CFO and support the companys reporting, planning, and forecasting process. Additionally, the teammate will provide strategic support to CEO, Restaurant Operating Officer, Regional Managers, District Managers, and Restaurant Managers.


Responsibilities

  • Conducts internal financial, operational and compliance audits.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities for improving internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Audits financial reports including but not limited to the P&L, Balance Sheets, Statement of Cash Flows, etc.
  • Evaluates established business and system processes for control design, effectiveness and suggests improvement.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of performance metrics (KPIs), measurements, methods, and targets with an emphasis on leading indicators and forecasts.
  • Assists in development of formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root cause issues.
  • Follow up with management to ensure that agreed-upon action plans have been implemented.
  • Reports periodic, and annual financial performance to the Operations leadership team, and research and prepare explanations of variances.
  • Provides actionable insights and solutions based on analysis of P&L results and key metrics to improve margins.
  • Analyzes and interpret operational results and provide financial recommendations and guidance to the management team.
  • Analyzes reporting of food cost, labor cost looking for enhancement opportunities.
  • Works with our various data platforms (such as CTUIT, Oracle NetSuite) to understand key business drivers, then translates the findings into insights and actions, and their implications to the overall business.
  • Works with finance, operational team, and senior management to support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
  • Analyzes financial implications of business performance and provide recommendations from a go-forward perspective.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of tools for data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and presentation.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, flexibility, and prioritization skills to effectively work under tight deadlines.
  • Create and maintain financial models to project revenues and costs.
  • Becomes an expert in all current reporting tools and develop and build reports, charts, and tables to visually represent data for senior management.
  • Produces high-quality work and encourages others to do the same in order to deliver on promises and deadlines.
  • Prepares reporting packages and financial templates with detailed analysis based on specified requirements from leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience.
  • Prior restaurant experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Self-starter with strong organization and detail-oriented skills and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a clear, consistent manner to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multitask, quick learner, adaptable, & manage various deliverables on quick timelines.
  • Enthusiastic team player who is productive, working independently or as part of a group.
  • Strong PC skills including advanced Microsoft Office Suite - Excel (Pivot Table, functions, and advanced formulas etc.), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Visits to restaurant locations in Texas State, mostly in DFW area once a week.
