CandleScience creates and sells candle making supplies to hobbyists (think Pinterest) and small candle companies (think Etsy).
We research and develop new raw materials of unparalleled quality that push the boundaries of performance in natural candle making. We distribute our products through multiple distribution centers on both coasts, and have experienced strong national growth for the last 15 years.
The Position: Inventory Control Associate
As Inventory Control at CandleScience, you will maintain and track the warehouses inventory of raw materials and finished goods. This position will be tasked with performing daily cycle counts of specific inventory in accordance with the cycle count schedule/forecast that has been determined by the operations manager. This position will be asked to do regular spot checks of inventory as well as auditing someone else's completed counts to increase accuracy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains control of all inventory items purchased and produced.
- Conducts daily cycle counts and forecasting.
- Researches for discrepancies between physical and electronic inventory with the attempts to understand where the error(s) may come from in order to improve training or processes
- Spot check errors of transfers, mis-ships, or overall inventory errors.
- Compiles inventory information such as consumption rate, characteristics, value, and stock on hand to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Monitors inventory levels to determine level of stock and provides notification to supervisor or manager.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months related experience in a warehouse or inventory position required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours a day
Must be able to bend and move under racking
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times repetitively.
Work Environment:
Indoor warehouse environment
