M.S. Walker Brands is searching for a self-motivated, collaborative, and experienced ITALIAN SALES SPECIALIST(link removed) In this role you will implement and develop our Italian portfolio through direct market work across New York State and New Jersey. You will provide portfolio knowledge, inspiration, messaging, and leadership while collaborating directly with Accounts, Portfolio Management, Producer Partners, Field Managers, Sales Representatives, and the Marketing team to profitably grow our distribution and sales volume. This is a highly visible role as it requires relationship building with our supplier/partners while aligning the proper tactical execution in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Management:

  • Work in assigned market a minimum of 4 days per week making in-person account calls independently or alongside distributor sales staff.
  • Build and foster 50 Key relationships/accounts in the region to ensure brand awareness and sales growth.
  • Achieve or exceed annual accounts sold, depletion and shipment objectives, and profit goals.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding Italian Brands in on/off-premise sales objectives, account distribution reach, execution of marketing programs, and attainment of profit goals.
  • Promote and sell M.S. Walker Brands Italian Portfolio to meet and/or exceed company key selling objectives, while also identifying sources of new business opportunities.
  • Consistently call on key accounts to implement and review our brand program priorities with an emphasis on follow-up and execution.
  • Support and develop education directly with key accounts, MSW-NY/NJ distributor and MSW Brands personnel.
  • Plan, Participate and Coordinate trade and consumer tastings and wine dinners for key accounts.
  • Work alongside M.S. Walker Brands NY/NJ Regional Sales Manager to implement and oversee monthly plans, and goals, and participate in regular meetings with key distributor personnel.
  • Diligently track distributor inventory based on sale rate communicating with local M.S. Walker NY/NJ Brand Manager on needs.

Administration & Analysis:

  • Provide reports including weekly accomplishment recap, bi-weekly regional account updates, monthly top 50 account updates, work-with schedules, and events.
  • Use M.S. Walker Brands resources to track, manage, and develop sales including our web- based VIP and EIS sales management portal.

Requirements

  • Working independently is a must and requires planning skills and self-motivation
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn new technology/programs for sales administration
  • Certified course work in WSET, or Court of Master Sommeliers preferred
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and management skills.
  • Detailed understanding of off-premise and on-premise prestige accounts. and fine wine retail business in the region
  • Availability for occasional travel, evenings, weekends and irregular hours during peak seasons and special events
  • Able to comfortably lift and move wine averaging 40 pounds per case.
  • Walk and sit for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid drivers license in good standing
  • Currently resides in New York City
  • Fluent or conversant in Italian strongly preferred

Compensation:

  • The salary for this role is a range of $65-90K, plus incentives/bonus, and is commensurate with experience
