Position Summary:

We are currently hiring a Full-time Janitor Crew Lead at the Child Development Center at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Schedule: Monday- Friday,

Shift: Full-time

Hours: 5:15pm - 1:45 am

Salary: $16.80 per hour + Federal Benefits!

Reporting to the Project Manager (Custodial) or the Assistant Project Manager (depending on the site), the Crew Leader is responsible for supervising work-related opportunities for people who have different abilities to work with integrated teams and receive work support and development as neededachieving the highest level of independence possible.

Assists with the supervision of employees and clients in the performance of janitorial duties. Also assists the crew in completing required tasks. Assists PM (Project Manager), APM, and/or Trainer (if applicable) in completing semiannual assessments and performance evaluations for the department if/as assigned. Ensures all safety procedures are followed and customer satisfaction while maintaining quality. Contributes to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the Manager, and implementing feedback for improvement. Performs duties with a special focus on safety, quality, and customer service.

Job Duties:

  • Assists crew in completing contract required tasks such as clean, sanitize and restock bathrooms. Sweep, mop vacuum floors and stairs. Empty all trash, liners and replace liners as well as clean receptacles as needed.
  • Maintain and organize chemicals and equipment in storage areas.
  • Dust and clean office areas, desks and furniture.
  • Maintain quality control standards and complete regular inspections.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Inform Project manager of any needs that cannot be satisfied with current equipment and advise timely fashion as additional supplies are needed.
  • Complete supply request sheets as needed.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Assist with meeting needs of clients while fulfilling contract obligations. Apply techniques for working with individuals with other abilities in the workplace.
  • Train and help clients develop job skills, communicating needs to management and implementing feedback for improvement.
  • Ensuring work performance is in accordance to contract, company policies and procedures.
  • Create schedules and task assignments for the crew and communicate expectations.
  • Assist with completing daily crew/building sheets and assessment forms.
  • Report client, employee, and customer issues to Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager; make recommendations for corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. helpful, but not required.

Experience: 1+ years of janitorial experience. Supervisory experience is helpful but not required.

Certifications/Licenses: Drivers License (regular license in IL, WI, OH, SC; or Class E in MO)

Background Checks:

Must pass criminal background check.

Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.

Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.

Driving: Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria. Must maintain valid drivers license and be 21 or older to drive Company van to transport workers, supplies, and equipment between building assignments.

Company travel using personal insured vehicles is not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting: Occasionally sitting in the normal course of office-sedentary type work.

Standing: Frequently standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting in the normal course of office-sedentary type work and for training workers.

Hearing, Speaking: Frequently listens and speaks with managers, clients, and employees to communicate instructions, exchange feedback, conduct meetings and communicate regarding contracts.

Seeing; Continually visually alert to monitor employee and client actions, work with computer systems, documents, and reports and to drive in the course of work

Handling: Frequently using hands in grasping, lifting, carrying, wiping, and squeezing.

Movement: Occasionally bending, reaching, and twisting; occasionally climbing stairs and/or ladders squatting, and kneeling to clean, dust, inspect, remove trash, sweep, and mop.

Lifting: Occasionally lifting, carrying, and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds of mop buckets and/or trash barrels.
