University Village Retirement Community is offering an opportunity to become part of a welcoming and supportive community! The Floor Tech works under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the floors. Follows a schedule to wash, seal, wax, and buff all resilient floors. Vacuum carpets per established schedule and as needed to maintain a clean impression of the building at all times. Keeps grounds cleared of debris. Sweeps ambulance entrance, clinic entrance, both courtyard entrances, and patio areas; cleans ashtrays, and ensure outside furniture is clean and usable. Performs assignments from the Maintenance Supervisor which could include checking and replacing light bulbs, registers in resident rooms and other areas, painting, etc.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, year-round, and exposure to the elements, including extreme temperatures, can be expected. Additionally, it requires walking and standing for extended periods of time as well as the lifting of heavy objects.
Hourly Rate of $14 - 16 commensurate upon experience
Shift Details:
Friday - Monday: 9am - 7:30pm
Tuesday - Saturday: 12pm - 8:30pm
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or related field
- Experience operating floor machinery floor buffers, carpet extractors
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and working closely with residents and other employees.
- Must have patience to work with elderly.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
