The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Jr. Credit Analyst role in the Houston, TX area. The selected candidate will prepare a credit approval summary with credit information for use in decision-making by the Banks Loan Committee and its senior management team.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $50K and full benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Jr. Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing current credit data and financial statements of existing or prospective borrowers to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
  • Providing portfolio maintenance and loan servicing in accordance with bank policies.
  • Financial requests to borrowers for updated information to complete annual reviews.
  • Reviewing and organizing credit applications, tax returns, financial statements, and other information necessary for credit analysis.
  • Working with other credit analysts and lenders to determine creditworthiness in accordance with bank credit policies.
  • Editing annual review reports.
  • Assisting in underwriting new and existing loans.
  • Monitoring customers financial condition, loan performance, and repayment history and taking appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
  • Identifying deteriorating loan situations in a timely manner and promptly communicating the details of such situations to management.

  • Bachelors degree (B.S.) in finance or accounting.
  • Good analytical ability to interpret financial information and the creditworthiness of applicants.
  • Ability to serve clients in a cordial, tactful, and professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to conduct productive and meaningful loan discussions and analyses.
  • Proficient in various bank software including Jack Henry, Moodys, Word, and Excel.
