Department of Personnel Administration Data Architect DPA Payroll Modernization

Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) Business Domain Data Architect, will be responsible for advancing the role of data architecture at OIT and across state agencies (link removed) DPA Data Architect will be responsible to advise, develop and facilitate data architecture strategy including cloud, advanced technologies & platforms for the DPA. This position will support efforts as an expert and leverage technology and innovation to provide scalable solutions to complex and diverse business problems. Business Domain Data Architect will create and document conceptual and logical models, logical solutions and physical data models. Business Domain Data Architect will approve all relevant data architecture decisions and ensure alignment with agency needs, considering both the current and future needs of the agency.

Primary Responsibilities:

Consult as a resource on data strategy and architecture to OIT and Agency Partners. Advises in strategic direction and ideation, removes roadblocks, and assures on-track alignment with executive expectations.

Drive innovations, collaborations, and insights establishing a strong data-driven approach to decision-making across the organization. Bring best in class technologies, innovation, and creativity to the table in developing technical solutions to solve complex multi-dimensional problems.
Provide technology expertise by architecting, prototyping, researching, recommending, documenting, and assisting in implementing and evaluating technical solutions for business issues whether purchased or developed.
Assess new data initiatives to determine compliance with the architecture, information security and data standards. Coordinate the review processes with project planners.
Establish, schedule, and guide roadmaps by combining data-domain driven design with model-driven engineering and architecture.
Assist in the development of conceptual and logical business models, and logical solutions and physical data models.
Interface with vendor technology/solutions, as well as appropriate involvement of OIT architecture, throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Assist in creating and maintaining data and solution architecture roadmaps, plans, and solutions.
Develop and manage data architecture and align with data governance processes to make sure all transactional and analytical work is consistent with standards and business models.
Guide development teams in Data Quality with measurably improved data accuracy, completeness, consistency, reliability and currency.
It is expected that this position will extend beyond June 30, 2023. Although this is a remote position, the work is expected to be performed within the State of Colorado.
