SMV Recruiting is looking for a Jr. Mechanical Design Engineer to work for a local manufacturer in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or works towards a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience. You will be tasked with reviewing designs/drawings and entering data into SolidWorks to help streamline processes and using new technology to innovate processes and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Enter data into SolidWorks to help automate design processes by examining original automation and sample drawings
- Help create new products by utlizing advanced design tools in SolidWorks and creating parametric designs
- Aid in managing new product design process to new product development process
Assist in developing new processes, policies and procedures by reviewing current processes including automation
- Impliment new technology such as AI and other innovation methods
- Manage projects and other assignments in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field is strongly desired
- 3-5+ years of experience in SolidWorks or AutoCAD is required
- 2+ years of overall experience in PM or design work is strongly preferred
- 2+ years of experience in leadership is preferred
- New product development experience strongly desired
