Our rapidly growing company is looking for a motivated junior business development officer to join our growing team. The individual in this role would be responsible for analyzing our customer base and current sales strategies and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability. We are seeking a candidate who is creatively minded and eager to think outside the box when it comes to our customers and their needs. Candidates with a background in sales who are analytically minded and motivated will do well in this role.

 



Position Summary:



The Junior Business Development Officer (“BDO”) originates new SBA, Government Guaranteed, and conventional loan requests by working in house prospect database and involvement in local business development events. The BDO examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of commercial customer applications for extensions of credit. The candidate must interview applicants and request specified information for loan application. The Junior BDO works closely with Director of Sales to evaluate loan requests based on program guidelines, as well as credit standards to maintain a high-performing portfolio. Develops customer relationships through friendly, courteous and responsive service. BDO should work to develop strong relationships with referral sources nationwide.



Principal Functions:

 




  • Works list of CapTec sourced prospective borrowers to measure interest in obtaining commercial loan financing

  • Maintains active pipeline of CapTec prospects with continual follow-up (in person, email, and telephone)

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with referral sources (such as CRE brokers, business brokers, wealth planners, professional associations, etc.); utilizes experience and BDO’s referral network to generate new business and expand referral sources.

  • Collects complete underwriting packages to analyze applicants' financial status, character, and global cash flow to determine if loan requests meet guidelines.

  • Corresponds with and interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information; BDO will often be intermediary between applicant and underwriter from funding partner.

  • Manages customer expectations and helps resolve issues and problems promptly.

  • Utilizes technology to manage leads, pipeline, and referral sources. Reports periodically on existing organic development efforts as well as in-house leads.

  • In-depth knowledge of program guidelines, procedures and criteria



 



Education/Experience:




  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Marketing.

  • Minimum two years outside sales in a finance related field
