Systems Engineer is expected to coordinate efforts with personnel supporting other products. Duties may include requirements analysis, engineering and design in an agile environment; analysis of alternatives; data model development; developing user stories; planning and tracking software development activities; preparing and maintaining software development schedules; mentoring team members; performing impact assessments of new requirements or change requests; directing design activities; coordinating integration tasks; developing architecture and design artifacts; and managing risks. Additional duties may include: preparing and presenting briefing slides; providing status; leading and attending Technical Exchange Meetings; and recording minutes to convey information and actions.

Requirements

TS/SCI with poly required

• Seventeen (17) years experience as a SWE in projects of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree.

Desired:

• Familiarity architecting and building horizontally scalable microservices in a cloud based environment
• Experience in architecture definition and design of solutions incorporating both SQL and No-SQL databases
• Four (4) years demonstrated experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as Hbase /Accumulo, Big Table, et cetera.
• At least three (3) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing RESTful services.
