Scope

Spiegelworld is looking for full-time Kitchen Stewards to join the team at Superfrico at Caesars in Atlantic City. The Kitchen Steward is responsible for assisting with all stewarding procedures within the kitchens and making sure all dishes and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, stored and available for use at all times. The ideal candidate will have the ability to anticipate the needs of others, and work seamlessly between tasks supporting a dining operation that is fun, efficient, and polished without pretense. Ultimately, youll ensure we provide excellent guest service by supporting your teammates and keeping the dishes and equipment for the restaurant, bar and kitchen ready. This position earns $19/hr.


Primary Job Duties

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Ensures all health regulations are maintained through personal practices and following procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of sanitation, dishwashing, maintenance, and safety standards identified by Spiegelworld and government agencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of sanitation, dishwashing, maintenance, and safety standards.
  • Follows the employee break schedules and attendance policies.
  • Understands the proper use of chemicals on property.
  • Demonstrates professional grooming and appearance based on company policy.
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchens and food beverage service areas.
  • Cleans, sanitizes and stores all china, glass, silverware and service pieces.
  • Performs removal and proper handling of trash, ashes and grease.
  • Performs cleaning, sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment.
  • Performs cleaning, sanitizing and re-stocking of bathrooms.
  • Performs cleaning, sanitizing of pots and pans.
  • Cleans and cares for all dish machines, beverage machines and all other service machines.
  • Completes daily assignments, checklists and HACCP requirements.
  • Restocks kitchen and service inventories.
  • Assists with plating food.
  • Assists with loading hot and cold transport carts.
  • Ensures cleaning and sanitation of transport carts.
  • Assists with inventories.
  • Assists with dish out stations, break down stations and returning equipment to kitchens, storerooms and dish rooms.
  • Participated in beverage transport, brewing and cleaning and sanitation of machinery and equipment.
  • Completes assigned checklists and cleaning schedules.
  • Performs duties required to support safety, sanitation, health codes, building codes, service, culinary support and cross department needs.
  • Works in all kitchens, dish rooms, service hallway support and material handling.
  • Sets up service trays in BOH.
  • Follows HAACCP procedures set by Caesars
  • Use personal protective equipment always when required to perform a task correctly.
  • Able to perform assigned tasks in hot and cold environments that include freezers.
  • Able properly uses all Stewarding power equipment safely, properly including clean up and storage.
  • Able to work on ladders, step stools and any other equipment required to perform the assigned task.
  • Linen receiving and issuance.
  • Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least two years related kitchen operations experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Possess the disposition to have fun at work and display that spirit to our employees and guests.
  • Possess a passion for the industry and assisting to maintain a team and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guests.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to present self in a professional, pleasant, confident and well-groomed manner.
  • Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • At least 18 years of age.


Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

  • Requires basic math.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
