Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assemble product, at least 2/3 of time, rest on support activities, training and paperwork review as and when required
- Continuous process & productivity improvement - support engineering, suggest improvements, communication, achieve or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by management for the Product Line such as production run rates, Minimal Quality Rejection, Cross-Training
- Communication of yield issues, first level of escalation, stop line as necessary - quality and efficiency
- Paperwork/LHR review - daily checks, blanks filled in, paperwork complete (not reconciliation)
- Manage cross-training of team members and establish absentee backup plans A, B and C - maintain and request to meet requirements / add people
- Follow daily or weekly build schedule and align team members as needed - delegate responsibilities, hold accountable, including observance & enforcement of the break-schedules
- Startup, In-process Checks - notification of needs to Quality or Management, spot check line for errors
- Objectivity in making decisions based on data analysis and feedback
- Completion of all paperwork as required to maintain proper records
Line Setup/Management - Perform line clearance activities Confirm all employees assignments prior to job start
- Startup and periodic spot check line for errors
- Submit material requisitions
- Gathers and distributes materials as required to ensure the area of responsibility is working in an efficient, effective, and safe manner
- Performs job start-up, tool set-ups, and changeovers as required
Management of People - Ensures that company established practices are followed and maintained the lead by example, address the issue if appropriate, elevate to management if necessary
- Includes a break schedule, documentation practices, etc.
- Assists assemblers with assembly problems, escalate as necessary
- Ensure assemblers are properly trained before independently performing a procedure
- Contact Maintenance, Supervisor, or engineering for repairs of manufacturing equipment as necessary
- Maintain a work environment that promotes teamwork and a pleasant workplace escalate to management or HR as necessary
Requirements - Demonstrated ability to lead and manage small groups of assemblers to ensure that quality and delivery objectives are met
- Strong work ethic, reliable and punctual, including break-times
- Manage equipment of area to ensure established levels of safety and quality are met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and other areas to ensure that quality and delivery objectives are met
- Works to ensure that all required product training requirements are current
- Demonstrates leadership and work ethic by example
- Good hand to eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work on a variety of tasks on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
- 1+ of year manufacturing experience
- Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
