Job Title: Lab Coordinator - Scientific Support (Associate Level)
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 12 Months, Onsite Lab-Based Role
Responsibilities:
Coordinate lab maintenance and effectiveness activities.
Ensure activities such as bench assignment, instrumentation installation/retirement, lab clean-outs, etc are performed on time and completely.
Coordinate with lab managers to onboard new group members in general lab policies, safety, cleanliness, etc.
Manage requests and create reports for instrumentation repairs, service contracts, preventive maintenance, to ensure efficient and safe lab operations.
Schedule and oversee cold storage repairs / clean-outs.
Coordinate with lab managers to ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, and in proper working order.
Assist with ordering and organization of consumable supplies common to department.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
Qualifications:
BS degree in related field or over 5 years' experience in lab coordination or Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A safety-first mindset: identify and address potential risks immediately
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency with Word and Excel
Ability to understand and follow SOPs
Basic knowledge of GLP principles and standards
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Must be flexible, forward-thinking, and motivated
Lab operations management experience preferred
Environmental, Health, and Safety certifications are a plus
Must have the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Note: This is not a lab tech role. This person will support Biologics Discovery and Engineering and will be a liaison to partners in IT, Safety, Facilities, etc.
