JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of the laboratory. Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety. Responsible for specimen collection and laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients. Responsible for Laboratory technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, to include instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration/Business
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Medical Technologist. 5 years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a primary care facility.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Prior Laboratory Director experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.
